If you are looking for traditional, delicate Japanese cuisine....don't go here. If you love heat, mayonnaise, non traditional pairings, south american influences and bang for the buck, head on over. BYOB is always nice. Tiny dining room so it can get busy. Husband and wife team hard at work here, he does the food, she waits tables and handles the dining room. nice to support a couple living the dream

Overview:

Ignore the cheesy decor, go for the food. Taramosalata, Melitzanosalata,Tirokafteri (trio) of dips is spectacular. Fried zucchini has a great garlic punch (bring mints), gyro platter is solid. Village salad is delicious time after time. If nothing else you must go for the grilled octopus, I dream of this dish. Tender, flavorful with a perfect char, don’t know if I have ever had better.

Overview:

Pizza pot pie...that’s all you have to say. Sweet, meaty sauce piled into a slightly sweet crust, one huge button mushroom and about 5 pounds of gooey, delicious, melted cheese. Never seen anything like it. Mediterranean bread is awesome (and huge). salads are all an iceberg lettuce based salad can be, crisp and chilled to 2 degrees above freezing. Most uncomfortable booths in the city, if you are lucky enough to get one. They do also offer the pies frozen that way you can have them at home without the long wait. oh, and those awesome little candies they drop with the check are available by the box

Overview:

90 year old man banging out old German tunes on an electric accordion, beer in boots, sausage and head cheese...like a cheap trip to Deutchland. Not fine dining, but good solid classics. Good beer selections, overall just an entertaining place. Plus Gene's sausage shop is just steps away....

Overview:

Whoever thought of putting cheese in the pan under the crust is a genius. Crunchy caramelized goodness. Sausage is the way to go, huge pieces of Italian sausage everywhere. Crust, although thick, is still flaky and delicious. Order ahead to pick up to avoid the wait.
