Description: Coco Pazzo website states:Both Coco Pazzo and Coco Pazzo Café's Tuscan Italian menus are updated frequently and incorporate the freshest ingredients available. Our chefs offer seasonal dishes based on what they find at the market each day. Each meal is handcrafted and reflects each chef’s interpretation of traditional Italian dishes.
Coco Pazzo offers traditional and contemporary dishes that feature seasonal ingredients, and are made with traditional techniques that require time and care. Many entrées, pizzas, and vegetables are cooked in our wood-burning oven. And our pastas, focaccia, breadsticks, sauces, and ragùs are handcrafted and house-made daily.

Coco Pazzo Café offers traditional dishes such as house-made pasta, panini, bruschetta, seafood, braised and grilled meats, and salads in a more casual setting. During the summer, enjoy your meal on our large alfresco patio.

Both restaurants offer an extensive collection of Italian wines by the bottle and by the glass. All of our servers receive an extensive wine education that allows them to capably assist in wine pairings. We also offer premium liquors and cocktails, from Bellinis to martinis.

"For the Relaxed, Celebratory Client Lunch"

March 30, 2012

  • Food: Upscale Italian
  • Decor: Very comfortable, well styled, good window exposures
  • Service: Helpful and genuine; first rate
  • Cost: $$$
  • Wine / Cocktails: Power Lunch enthusiasts always wait until after work.

Overview:

The recurring theme of my Power Lunch reviews: always understand your guest(s) first and then select the restaurant accordingly. Coco Pazzo is ideal for a multi-course relaxed celebratory lunch. Think 90 minutes on a Friday. Don't choose CP if your guest is a clock watcher. That's not because the service is slow; on the contrary, it's attentive and excellent. But doing CP right takes a little time.

When you walk in the door, you will notice a glorious table of fresh meats, cheeses and vegetables. When you get to the table, be bold and, before your guest even picks up a menu, tell the server: "Please prepare fresh antipasti for the table." The server will adjust the portion size to match the number of diners. Trust me, just do this.

On entrees, the wood oven pizzas are worth the wait, but you can't go wrong with the lamb or fresh seafood selection. I'm typically a pasta guy when it comes to Italian restaurants; see below accordingly for my recommended dish.

Recommended Dishes:

Tagliatelle ai Funghi; fresh pasta with roasted mushrooms, brussel sprout leaves, pancetta and chestnuts. Fabulous.

"Simply Divine Upscale Italian"

January 1, 2011

  • Food: Upscale Italian
  • Decor: Spacious and cozy, lit but not too bright
  • Service: Excellent
  • Cost: $$$$

Overview:

Coco Pazzo is a Chicago treasure!! My grandparents used to take us there growing up and it was not until I became an adult that I began to truly appreciate the beauty of the cuisine. Coco Pazzo is always delicious and never disappoints. When you sit down, a waiter instantly brings you an amuse bouche to wet your palate and that it does!! I can not give Coco Pazzo a better rating. WONDERFUL. For a slightly less expensive, but still as tasty meal, check out sister restaurant Coco Pazzo Cafe.

Recommended Dishes:

Crispy Beans, Pastas, Fishes, Pizzas, Salads, Soups, Meats
