"New neighborhood favorite"

July 31, 2012

  • Food: American
  • Decor: Off lobby at James Hotel, contemporary steakhouse feel
  • Service: Great
  • Cost: $$$
  • Wine / Cocktails: The martini at the table next to us looked great!

Overview:

Went over for lunch and had a fantastic meal. The bread they brought to start was both soft and toasted, loved it. We had beef cooked on a Himalayan pink salt block, excellent. They made the Caesar salads table side and I had mine with poached lobster. The lobster was perfection and I could eat it every day! For sides we had asiago truffle fries and a mac and cheese carbonara, so good. Even the green tea was excellent since it had the toasted flavor that I love. No room for dessert but I will get it next time!

Recommended Dishes:

Caesar salad with poached lobster, beef cooked at the table, asiago truffle fries, mac and cheese carbonara

Overview:

A fellow Food Mafia Goodfella and I met up at David Burke's to try the 777 Las Vegas Strip Steak special. I had the simple, yet delicious Las Vegas Strip Steak and I couldn't believe the deal I was getting. The steak was very juicy with a nice blend of seasoning. I would never expect to get such a quality steak for just $7. My friend and I also shared the Truffle Asiago Fries which were a little soft for my taste in fries but were still very good.

Recommended Dishes:

Las Vegas Strip Steak, Las Vegas Strip Steak Sandwich

Overview:

Presentation is everything, and at David Burke’s Primehouse, Chef Rick Gresh and team not only make everything look so good, but taste oh so good too.

Sticks are big at DBPH, and the Jerk Pork Dumplings are nestled in a mango ailoi with chili threads, which add a great chewy texture.

Sous Chef @BreannaBeikesent over the perfectly seared scallops, with toasted quinoa and winter squash. You should follow her on Pinterest too – she is pretty RAD.

Huge fan of wedge salads, and theirs is the best. Baby iceberg (its very tender and does not have a bitter flavor), creamy blue cheese dressing as well as a tomato vinaigrette. Also please note the fun hotel guests we met with the rockin’ cowboy hat and bottle of Bud. They were fun to chat with at the bar.
8 day dry aged ribeye, bone in. Always the perfect char working on the steak.

Until then, it’s better to look good, but also taste good!

Recommended Dishes:

Jerk Pork Dumplings, Seared Scallops, Wedge Salad, Bone-In Ribeye
