Overview:
Disclaimer: we dined at L2O before the departure of Laurent Gras. We did the 8 course tasting, and I will never be the same after having Chef Gras' salt cod and potato parfait, it truly was perfection. The quality of the ingredients was exceptional, beyond fresh. Immaculate plates, clean flavors, and a beautiful room. I found the restaurant totally deserving of its three Michelin stars.
The service was formal, a tad stiff, and a bit comedic given the excessive use of rolling carts (which we nicknamed R-2 Units) that zipped up to and away from the table throughout service. Also, if you have to use the restroom, it takes three servers to extract you from the banquette due to all the props used in service. All in all, world class dining, I hope it stays the same absent Chef Gras.
