Overview:

I was blown away by the brunch at Lula, you can't go wrong! The mimosas and Bloodys are great, and the food was nap-worthy and delicious!

We had the "Royale" (maple and stout sausage, country ham gravy, bread and butter pickles, house ‘pimento’ cheese, classic egg on a buttermilk biscuit) and the Strada (broccoli, roasted garlic, green acres farm eggplant, summer savory,
sardinian sheep’s milk cheese), as well as some dishes that were more seasonal, and man, were they amazing!

Go to Lula, trust me.

Overview:

Great spot in the heart of Lincoln Square. We started out with the bloody's which were amazing...we might have had 2 a piece, but who's counting!

Our waiter was top notch and recommended the black walnut bread pudding "french toast" to satiate my sweet craving. The roasted apple and walnuts were a perfect balance of salty and sweet. I also had a side of the housemade organic pork sausage patties which were incredible.

My brunchmate enjoyed the tostada. The crispy veal breast was very similar to pork belly and great balance with the overall dish.

The friendly and homey atmosphere was a great place to enjoy brunch. I look forward to going back soon!

"creativity and quality"

Overview:

To say its all about the wonderful people who care for Jason Hammel and Amalea Tschilds guests would imply that I didn't love the food and I do. Every time I go I am surprised by the creativity and quality. I can still taste the cured chicken yolk with steak tartare I had almost four years ago. Last fall he warmed our hearts and tummies with a delicious squash soup and this week, squab consomme with cinnamon cap mushrooms, gnocchetti and px sherry vinegar. The wine list is smart and reasonable but I am compelled to dig deep into my cellar of aged wines to complement the complexity of the seasonal Lula menus.
